When working with a nonprofit, you have to realize that depending on where the funds are going, there still exists the strategies used in marketing to aim to different audiences for certain causes.
I've worked with Islamic Relief USA for 5 years now, and have enjoyed creating event materials such as flyers, posters, postcards, tickets, and more!
When designing for an event with certain speakers/venue/ambience you have to realize that you must learn about a certain audience and their culture in order to attract their eyes with certain, colors, shapes, and other elements (images, layout of images, and juxtaposition).
My experience with IRUSA, a nonprofit humanitarian organization, has given me the experience of dealing with different departments, tight deadlines and creating web and print materials for events. With that comes my experience with interacting one on one with printers, print shops, and companies to help our clients receive the products that they need in the most efficient way. I also have assisted in creating videos, capturing, creating marketing material (ads and social media content, working one on one with marketing and SEO specialists), promoting of fundraising events through social media, and photography for events as well.
